Pichon Dragons
China
Unknown
Jade Rock
This piece is traditionally placed outside a house or a room, as it is a symbol of retaining wealth, and according to Chinese legend, this dragon does not excrete anything from itself, but retains all it consumes. They stay outside to protect and maintain all wealth that the particular person has accumulated throughout their life. Jade art has been a staple for thousands of years. Their sculptures revered, and their forms immortalised throughout the many Chinese dynasties and their emperors. The worship of dragons prevailed throughout the millennia, as they represented all power, and shaped the empire. This statue is a reminder of a mystical era of magic, strength through balance, and exquisite craftsmanship.
