In this sculpture, man and nature are once again caught in a dance. Artist Keith Calder depicts a nude man holding a leopard on a leash. As with more of Calder’s works, the theme of the human and animal body struggling against each other carries through into this art piece. This tension speaks to a global struggle between humans and the environment and our estrangement. To Calder, this piece immortalises the “eternal struggle between Ego and Id or dichotomy of strength and desire".
